Why do we practice if we never get to share what we’ve learned?
Tamraloo recitals and showcases are joyful opportunities for students to perform for an encouraging audience and celebrate their growth. These events are not competitions or adjudications. There are no scores, rankings, or comparisons. Just students building confidence, sharing their work, and receiving well-earned applause.
Some students perform four measures from an early method book. Others perform Bartók. Some sing, some dance, some act, and we celebrate every step in between.
For more than a decade, Tamraloo students and families have gathered at Granite Springs Church in Lincoln, California, to share what they have learned. Whether this is your student’s first performance or one of many, we are delighted to welcome them to the stage.
December Recital
A FESTIVE, LOW-PRESSURE PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY
Held on the first weekend of December, our December Recital is an optional, opt-in event designed to begin the holiday season with music, movement, and plenty of applause.
Students must register before the October deadline to participate. Because this recital is opt-in, it is typically smaller and especially welcoming for first-time or developing performers.
Students arrive, perform what they have been preparing in lessons, and enjoy the experience of sharing it with family and friends.

May Showcase
The Main Event
Our May Showcase is Tamraloo’s largest annual celebration. Think of it as graduation day for the performing arts.
Unlike the December Recital, May Showcase participation is opt-out. All eligible students are included and billed in mid-February unless an extenuating circumstance prevents them from performing. Families who cannot participate must notify the front office so the information can be shared with our Showcase Team.
Across two Friday shows and three on Saturday, Tamraloo presents five approximately two-hour performances featuring students from throughout the studio.
Because of the size and complexity of this event, requests for specific Showcase dates or performance times cannot be accommodated. Students are assigned to the performance that best supports their class, teacher, accompanist, and the Showcase as a whole.
May Showcase Includes
Each participating student receives:
-
The opportunity to perform in Tamraloo’s signature annual event
-
A keepsake Showcase program
-
A Tamraloo keepsake
-
A professional student photograph
-
An encouraging, family-centered performance experience
Dance students also receive a costume for their class performance. Dance costume fees are charged separately.
